An Introduction to the Osso Color
We recently dropped our biggest product launch in Casa di Sassi history, an expansion that included two new stone veneer profiles and six new color options. Today, we’re zeroing in on one of those color options to discuss the inspiration behind it and provide some real-world examples of how amazing it is.
What Is the New Osso Color?
Osso (Italian for “bone”) features tonal stones that create a subtle yet striking palette. Osso also boasts varying textures across its stones, providing a distinctive character that easily elevates any interior or exterior project. Equally organic and refined, Osso is ideal for impressing without standing out too much.
We developed Osso from customer feedback for a minimal, tonally focused stone veneer color option that could be used for a wide variety of projects. That feedback helped us handpick stones to use as inspiration for Osso’s creation. We wanted something versatile that could fit into any vibe — whether that’s clean and modern or low-key and rustic — and we’re thrilled with the result.
Which Stone Veneer Profiles Are Available In the Osso Color?
Currently, three of our stone veneer profiles are available in Osso:
- Volterra: mixed squares and rectangles laid in a random ashlar pattern, ½” grout joint, 120 lbs., 13 sq. ft.
- Country Rubble: various irregular shapes to create a rubble/fieldstone pattern, ½ grout joint, 123 lbs., 13.5 sq. ft.
- Quartz Ledgestone: Stacked bond/ledgestone pattern, sometimes referred to as linear or dry stack style., ½” grout joint, 110 lbs., 13 sq. ft.
Incorporating Osso Into Home Design
Osso flourishes in all kinds of designs, but we particularly enjoy using it for projects with light, minimal elements or atmospheres. In scenarios where plain stone veneer would be too stark, Osso adds movement and visual interest that unifies the design.
This makes for an especially natural aesthetic that really brings out Osso’s various textures. We think it’s reminiscent of centuries-old European structures (think countryside huts).
We also like Osso for fireplaces to create a minimal yet comfy vibe. This gives you the best of both worlds, and it’s an easy fit for a wide range of aesthetics.
