Product Specifications and Aesthetic Versatility

Casa di Sassi manufactured stone veneer is a lightweight, decorative product designed for non-structural enhancement of indoor and outdoor vertical surfaces. It is made from a mixture of Portland cement, lightweight aggregates and mineral oxides that is poured into rubber forms and cured to hardness.

Our skilled craftspeople create various types of stone veneer to mimic the look of stones found in nature or time-tested building materials. We currently offer 10 distinct stone veneer profiles, and each is available in one or more color palettes to compliment a wide range of design aesthetics.

Quality and Durability

All Casa di Sassi stone veneer products are handcrafted with attention to detail for the highest quality. They’re designed for easy installation and a lifetime of durability. We stand behind the robust strength of our stone veneer with a 50-year warranty against blistering, peeling, flaking, delaminating or cracking excessively as a result of manufacturing defects when used on structures conforming to local building codes and installed in accordance with Masonry Veneer Manufacturers Association written instructions. This warranty also transfers to subsequent owners of the property, adding real value to homeowners who are upgrading in anticipation of listing their home for sale.

Installation Guidelines

We strongly recommend that our stone veneer products are installed in strict accordance with both local building codes and the written instructions from the National Concrete Masonry Association’s published manufactured stone veneer installation guide. Adhering to these standards not only ensures a more successful project, it also aligns with our product warranty.

You can also take advantage of the stone veneer installation tips for professionals that we put together from our own experience and that of our trusted partners.

Maintenance and Care

Manufactured stone veneer that has been properly installed is virtually maintenance free. Stone veneer applied indoors might require an occasional vacuum or wipe-down with a damp cloth to remove dust. Customers can clean stone veneer exteriors, including home siding and landscaping applications, by hosing off accumulated dirt and debris. Harsh chemicals and abrasives should be totally avoided, and a breathable silane or siloxane sealant is optional for applications exposed to water or extreme climate fluctuations. We consider it a best practice to have a discussion with your customers about how to clean manufactured stone veneer either at the time of purchase or once the installation is complete.

Compliance and Certifications

Casa di Sassi stone veneer products are routinely tested and verified to comply with codes and standards by various third-party national and international organizations, including:

  • Uniform Evaluation Services (UES), a division of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), that is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Institute of Building Technology (IBT), a division of IAPMO’s Research & Technology Lab formed to serve the building products industry and staffed by veteran engineers and professionals with decades of experience in construction

Performance Characteristics

Whether it’s a manufactured stacked stone veneer or one of our mortared profiles, all types of stone veneer from Casa di Sassi exhibit superior performance in both interior and exterior applications. As outlined in our product specification data sheet, all our stone veneer products deliver:

  • Moisture absorption of less than 18%
  • Fire retardant characteristics of zero flame spread, zero fuel contribution and zero smoke production
  • Thickness of 1 to 2 inches that may contribute to the overall thermal insulation performance of underlying structures

Market Demand and Trends

The home reno market has been booming lately, and stone veneer products have enjoyed great popularity by amping up the ROI on luxurious upgrades. To keep up with the demand for our high-quality stone veneer products, Casa di Sassi invested in a new manufacturing facility to augment our production capabilities in Apple Creek, Ohio.
